Gautier VSOP Cognac
Gautier VSOP Cognac Rhum Vieux Agricole is a mixture of “agricultural roe” that is at least 6 years old. The storage has taken place in oak barrels that have previously contained brandy. Gautier VSOP Cognac Rhum Vieux Agricole has a spicy scent, while the taste offers notes of bananas and ripe fruit.
Longueteau was founded in 1895 in the French archipelago of Guadeloupe in the Caribbean. Henri Longueteau acquired the property Le Domaine De Marquisat De Sante-Marie, in 1890, where the property’s former owner Marquise of Santa-Marie, due to a great penchant for gambling, was forced to divest the property to pay off a gambling debt.
Gautier VSOP Cognac
Henri Longueteau did not know at the time what the property was for but was told by the seller that he could pay continuously when deciding what the property was for. Today, rum has been produced on the property for more than 120 years.
The decision to start space production in the old sugar rafinaderi dropped Henri very naturally. Today, Longueteau is the only 100% self-sufficient distillery on Guadeloupe and is run by 4 generations in the family.
A subtle and well-balanced Cognac from one of the Cognac’s oldest houses. As with all Gautier’s spirits, this VSOP is aged in an 18th-century watermill, giving it a distinctive flavor profile. The rush of dried fruit on the nose was followed by lovely floral notes.
Elegant entry into the mouth with a fine display of flavors of biscuit, rich chocolate, and warm spice. Warming flow where the fruit is very evident as with sweet spice. Good balance and texture. Hints of old leather. The burst of warm spice leads into a long, well-fruited finish. A real treat.
Enjoy it with a great Cuban or New World Cigar!
