How is the Diplomático Distillery Collection Nº1 Batch Kettle produced?
Diplomático Nº1 Batch Kettle is as the name indicates distilled using Batch Kettle distillation. This type of distillation was introduced at Diplomáticos La Miel distillery in 1959. The semi-industrial distillation system originated in Canada, where it was used for the production of American whiskey. The rum matures on casks of American white oak, which was previously used to ripen Bourbon and Scotch whisky, resulting in a lovely complex rum with medium-high fullness.
What does Diplomático Nº1 Batch Kettle taste like?
The rum has a very elegant and rich scent, which combines aromas of vanilla, sweet fruity notes of cherries, strawberries and a touch of banana. The taste is well balanced with a pleasant sweetness followed by ripe tropical fruits. The finish is soft, sweet and a little cool with a ball-danced aftertaste.
How should Diplomático Nº1 Batch be enjoyed?
Like the rest of diplomáticos Distillery Collection, Nº1 should also be enjoyed “neat” at about 20 degrees. A fun and interesting way to enjoy diplomáticos Distillery Collection is to taste all three flavors of the series one after another, to taste the marked difference that the three distilling methods have on both taste, scent and general experience of the rum.
