Glengoyne 25 YO Single Malt
Method and production. Warm, fruity, and intense. Elegant spice, treacle, toffee, rich sherry oak, with an infinitely complex finish. Maturing a character-building quarter-century, exclusively in hand-selected sherry casks.
The color is light amber. Red fruits, old leather, and brown sugar. Soft oak, cinnamon, boiled fruit, and Seville jam.
The taste is long with spicy licorice and with a slow dryness. Predominantly 1. fill European oak sherry dishes.
“Timeline” for Glengoyne Distillery.
I 1820, Out of the reach of the law, George Connell secretly begins distilling at Burnfoot Farm.
In 1833 George decided to register as a distiller and acquires his license to distill at the “Glenguin of Burnfoot,” but it was not until 1907 that their name was changed to Glengoyne Distillery. Crucial to the local community, George decides not to import peat but only uses local fuel.
In 2003, Edrington sold Glengoyne to Ian Macleod Distillers, and Glengoyne became 100% independent and family-owned. It is the start of a new era but still firmly rooted in Glengoyne’s traditions.
In 2011, Glengoyne launched a “focus on sustainability,” using 14,500 plants to treat wastewater in the distillery’s water reservoirs before discharge into nature. This has created clean drinking water and increased birdlife in the valley.
Six guiding principles that keep them true to their past. To change only one of these elements would be to change the elegant and complex taste of Glengoyne.
